Coloring and Printing Technology of Cosmetic Packaging Bottles

1. The coloring process mainly refers to the color and texture effects that the packaging materials can present. 2. Aluminum foil: Aluminum surface, just a layer wrapped on the inner plastic. 3. Electroplating (UV): The effect is brighter compared to spraying. Electroplating refers to a surface processing method where, in a solution containing salts of the desired metal to be plated, the base metal to be plated acts as the cathode, and through electrolysis, the cations of the desired metal in the plating solution deposit on the surface of the base metal, forming a plating layer. The effect of electroplating is relatively bright and is generally used more for bottle caps and pump heads, although there is also electroplating on bottle bodies, which is relatively more expensive. The electroplating process is not very environmentally friendly, and it is often the case at the end of the year.
1. Coloring Process
Mainly refers to the colors and texture effects that the packaging materials can present.
1. Electrolytic aluminum: An aluminum exterior, just a layer wrapped around the inner plastic.
2. Electroplating (UV): The result is a bright color compared to spraying.
Electroplating refers to a surface processing method in which the base metal to be plated serves as the cathode in a solution containing salts of the metal to be plated. Through electrolysis, the cations of the desired metal in the plating solution deposit onto the surface of the base metal, forming a plating layer.
The electroplating effect is relatively bright, generally used more on bottle cap pumps, and there is also electroplating on the bottle body, which is relatively more expensive. The electroplating process is not very environmentally friendly, and it is often subject to environmental inspections at the end of the year, which can affect delivery schedules.
3. Spraying: The color produced is a matte finish compared to electroplating.
Spraying refers to a coating method that disperses into a uniform and fine mist through a spray gun or disc atomizer, using pressure or centrifugal force, applied to the surface of the object being coated. In the application of cosmetic bottles, it includes several treatment methods such as internal spraying of the inner bottle, external spraying of the outer bottle, and spraying on the surface of the bottle body.
Inner bottle outer spray: This refers to spraying on the outside of the inner bottle (liner), creating a noticeable gap between the outer appearance and the outer bottle.
Inner bottle spraying: It is spray painting on the inner side of the outer bottle, which appears to have a larger area from the outside.
Outer bottle spray: it refers to the spraying process directly on the outer surface of the bottle.
4. Frosted: A layer of matte texture.
The principle of sandblasting is to friction the accelerated abrasive particles against the surface of the bottle, achieving rust removal, deburring, removal of oxide layers, or surface pretreatment, which can change the surface smoothness and stress state of the bottle.
5. Drawn bag gold and silver: It is actually a film, and upon careful observation, you can find the connecting seams on the bottle body.
6. Secondary oxidation: This is a secondary oxidation performed on the original oxide layer, achieving a pattern where the glossy surface covers a matte surface or where a matte surface appears with a glossy pattern. It is often used in the production of logos.
7. Injection molding color: It is the process of adding color powder to the raw materials during product injection molding or using color masterbatch directly as the material. The process is relatively inexpensive.
2. Printing Process
Mainly refers to various processes of the text and patterns printed on the bottle.
1. Silk screen:
Use a silk screen as the base plate, and create a silk screen printing plate with images and text through a photosensitive plate-making method. Silk screen printing consists of five main elements: silk screen printing plate, squeegee, ink, printing table, and substrate. The basic principle of printing utilizes the fact that the mesh holes in the image and text part of the silk screen printing plate can allow ink to pass through, while the mesh holes in the non-image and text part cannot allow ink to pass through.
The effect after printing has a明显的凹凸感. Because it is a layer of ink. The regular screen-printed bottles (cylindrical) can be printed in one go. Other irregular shapes incur a one-time fee. Color is also a one-time fee. There are two types: self-drying ink and UV ink. Self-drying ink is prone to falling off over time and can be wiped off with alcohol. UV ink has a明显的凹凸感 and is difficult to wipe off.
2. Hot stamping:
Hot stamping, also known as foil stamping, is a printing decoration process. A metal printing plate is heated, and foil is applied to the printed material to imprint gold text or patterns. It utilizes the principle of heat transfer to transfer the aluminum layer from the electroplated aluminum onto the surface of the substrate to create a special metallic effect. Since the main material used in hot stamping is electroplated aluminum foil, hot stamping is also called electroplated aluminum foil stamping.
3. Water transfer printing:
It is a method of printing colorful patterns from transfer paper onto the surface of three-dimensional products using water pressure. The printed patterns are inconsistent. Moreover, it is more expensive.
4. Heat transfer:
Heat transfer printing is a technology that prints patterns or designs onto heat-resistant adhesive paper, transferring the ink layer's patterns onto the finished material through heating and pressure. Using heat transfer film printing allows for multi-color patterns to be printed in one go without the need for color registration, and realistic patterns can be printed with simple equipment. Heat transfer printing is often used for large quantities and complex printed products. It involves applying a layer of film to the surface. The price is relatively high.
5. Offset printing:
Mainly used for aluminum-plastic hoses and all-plastic hoses. If the offset printing is for colored hoses and white is required, silk screen printing must be used, as offset printing will show the background color. Additionally, sometimes a layer of glossy film or matte film will be attached to the surface of the hose.
6. 3D relief UV printing
3-layer printing function, white, color, and gloss printing can be done at once. When printing on any medium, pre-treatment is done using white ink with reproducible color fidelity, and an additional layer of gloss is added to achieve a more aesthetically pleasing printing effect. This process tends to be relatively expensive and is not widely used.
